Fashion is an art of making some changes which would make a simple thing look marvel. Having long veils to sarees is one such thing in trend. History has the habit of repeating itself. While we developed ourselves from walking to automobiles, and started making ourselves obese so that we get back into walking again. Here comes the practice where the brides moved to modern attire from saree in their wedding day, while now they look back in to their traditional costumes by slightly adding some changes to it. Like veils are nowadays being added to bridal sarees. Sarees with veils are seen as a symbol of expression traditional modernity. Even celebrities who got themselves married this year got into this trend to make them look ecstatic.

A saree in general is an Indian style of cloth which in terms is an unstitched piece of cloth that is stretched along a long way which is tied around the waist of the women, whereas the other end is thrown aside the shoulder. There are merely a greater number of types in draping sarees which would reach almost a century if counted. Sarees are been worn in different parts of the world including India and its neighboring countries. It is evident that this cloth design is culturally connected to every Indian. While Indian have connected themselves personally, mentally, emotionally, culturally, socially and physically to the saree, it is where its importance lies in. Sarees play an important role in Indian weddings that there several rituals and practices connected to it that are being in practice even today.

Veils in common is piece of fabric that is used to cover the top of a person in order to attain any significance. Generally, veils were certainly religious, but in the modern-day people with a more secular perspective likes to prefer it beyond borders. In certain religions where the bride is intended to stand in front of the almighty in wedding ceremonies, she is made to wear a veil as a symbol of showing respect to the god. The modern-day brides who were very much social in perspectives had the idea of bringing back veils back to Indian weddings.

As a part of westernizing their behaviors and attitudes, modern weddings are seen as a fusion of half Indianized and half Westernized look. But veils aren’t western anyway, because it is important to note that Indian weddings offered veils to both the brides and grooms on their wedding ceremony. Weddings in northern India have the practice of bringing the groom in a horse with his face covered with a flower veil. Also, the Indian brides have an art of draping their saree as a piece of veil on their head. Even after marriage women of certain regions have their heads covered with a veil that is used to be a part of saree on their head. There are several scientific and social reasons behind it, but the modern-day costume designers argue that veils with sarees are a fusion of Indo-westernized form.

Sarees with veils came into fashion again with a trend of famous celebrities having their wedding costume in that design. People began to replicate themselves with the favorites starts whom they have preference with the costumes that they wore on their wedding day. The replicated images also got into trend once the original images were out. But there is a way where people can surely make them look even more natural and ecstatic with a saree veil for modern weddings. Although veils have been used for weddings before, modern veils with sarees require latest designers with a modern mindset in order to fuse the design of veil with the saree. Thus, it is important to keep the budget in mind before getting into shopping. Decide the length of the veil you want to wear on your wedding day. While there are several samples and designs of veils based on the length, you can prefer the length as them of possibilities of making a custom veil too. Consider your hairstyle before you choose your veil. If you are a person with a short hair, or if you don’t want your hair to messed up for your wedding or if you want to look simple and elegant on your wedding, consider wearing a veil so that it covers all the problems that we have discussed. Make your veil look lighter and similarly contrasting to the wedding dress as it shouldn’t overpower the entire costume. Make sure that you don’t over your entire face with your veil. Wedding photos are memories that lasts forever and you don’t want to cover your face with those veils. It’s not compulsory to wear a veil especially on your marriage day. It is because if choose to wear a veil keeping your culture and religion in mind, the decision may fall into compulsion. But if you choose to wear a veil especially with a saree on your wedding day as a result of fashion, it’s completely your choice to wear your veil or not.

Saree is seen as a symbol of Indian culture, whereas veils symbolize western nations in concern. The modern weddings are seen as a fusion of native culture with globalized culture. Those who want their wedding costumes in a modern touch can prefer adding veils to their sarees.
